Below is a list of various things I use to make my NCAA Football 06 experience better. I will continue to add to this list over time. I only list resources that have personally helped me on my journey with NCAA 06.
Note that most of the Gaming Essentials will be geared toward the PS2. I don’t want to recommend anything I haven’t used.
PS2 Component Cables: Since we now live in the HD era, I think it is time to start using better audio/video cables. I am not familiar with how XBOX works so I can only recommend this component cable. It works great on most HD TVs.
However, some TVs are too powerful for your component cables…
PS2 8MB Memory Card: An 8MB memory card should be all you need to house three roster sets, one dynasty file, settings, and multiple profiles/playbooks. If you think you need more than upgrade to what you need.
One of the best ways to keep me motivated to play 06 is to see if I can implement real football schemes and succeed with them. These sites should provide you with enough material to let your imagination run wild!
Operations Sports – By far the best site where gamers like us can come together and discuss NCAA 06, and any other sports game for that matter! If you need a community to join that cares about sports gaming like yourself, OS is the only place to be. This link will direct you to the NCAA Football Forums.
Smart Football – Arguably the best site for football Xs and Os. Chris Brown is really good when it comes to the philosophy side of football.
Sports Treatise – Ian Boyd is starting to become my favorite writer. His material rivals Chris Brown’s site. He also writes much more often than Chris does.
Football XOs – The best database for real playbooks which spans over 40 years worth of material. I can spend days reading this stuff.
